What Fears Do You Have From Childhood?
As we sail through the seas of our lives, we usually miss out on simple moments of happiness and joy. Thinking about this, what immediately comes to my mind is the period of endless happiness, joy, and laughter for most of us - childhood!
For most of us, childhood is a time of absolute fun and leisure. It was a time when we cared less about other things and thought about nothing but being happy and in the moment. We had this innate ability to express ourselves unapologetically, and this made us feel free and be ourselves.
Childhood - The Golden Time
This does not directly imply that all of us had a thoroughly great childhood. Most of us had events or incidents that left a mark on us even after we grew up. These experiences have shaped a part of our personality, and so it is essential and almost unavoidably necessary to know what fears you formed as a child.
The human brain is one of the most complex structures created in this universe. It has this fantastic ability to internalize thoughts or sensations based on our prior experiences. Additionally, it can also manifest them into fears or phobias of different kinds. Our self-talk, especially a negatively motivated one, becomes more dominant in such situations. If we try to track the analogy of these chains of thoughts, something interesting is revealed. Usually, a lot of the stories that we tell ourselves stem from one incident that we experienced as a child.
How To Overcome Your Childhood Fears
Face Your Fears
In an attempt to overcome that feeling, we must anticipate, accept, and work towards becoming a better version of ourselves. As a first step, you must ideally know what you fear the most or what haunts your thoughts.
After that, you can slowly progress towards changing your mindset because of that situation's influence. What this essentially means is that you face your fears. Only after that do the negative arbitrary thoughts slowly start to fade away.
It’s Not For You - Think Again
Anyone might initially think that this activity is not specifically for them because there is nothing that they can directly relate to being fearful from their childhood. It is only after taking a deeper internal look into your personality - can you begin to unravel the events that have stuck with you buried in your subconscious mind. These events may not directly affect you but - indirectly, making it difficult to function efficiently.
Lesson To Be learned
Childhood is a time when we internalize most of our concepts and ideas about the world as well and so it is important to have a positive outlook in today’s world. The simplest and best way to have that outlook is through connecting to your inner child. Just like our body, our mind and soul also need to be taken care of. It, too, needs regular practice to make sure that it remains in its best state. To achieve that, one must understand the importance of loving yourself, and the best time to begin it is - NOW!
