How to Stop Self-Sabotage

Procrastination, self-doubt or overwhelm are the bane of our lives; if you forget, you are more than your past. Our past tends to hold us stuck, feeling unsafe and uncertain and repeating the same cycles when faced with something new, different, or challenging. The past reinforces what we know rather than allowing us to venture beyond into the unknown, which is what change is about. The unknown.

Have you ever found yourself procrastinating on something important, not because you're lazy, but because it just felt too much? Have you started doubting your abilities just when things were beginning to fall into place? Or felt stuck in a spiral of stress, unable to make a decision, paralysed by the fear of getting it wrong?

What Is Self-Sabotage?

Self-sabotage is when we unconsciously block our growth or success. It may look like:

  • Avoiding tasks or decisions

  • Overthinking everything

  • Holding back from opportunities

  • Letting fear of failure or judgment take over

These behaviours often stem from deeper emotional wounds and a lack of inner safety.

Why We Sabotage Ourselves

We self-sabotage because we fear the unknown. The mind wants to stay in its comfort zone, playing small, despite opportunities to be a bigger player. However, the truth is that you've overcome challenges before. You've been brave, resourceful, and strong, although you may have forgotten.

How to Overcome Self-Sabotage

Breaking free from self-sabotage starts with a shift from fear to trust. Trust in yourself, in your journey, and in your ability to grow and thrive.

Here's how to begin:

1. Reflect

Reflect on the moments when you've felt afraid but took action anyway. What helped you move forward? What did you learn about yourself in the process? These past victories are proof that you can do hard things.

2. Reconnect

Self-sabotage disconnects us from our inner power. Rebuild that connection by tuning in to your strengths, values, and desires. Journaling, meditation, or simply taking a moment to be quiet can help you reconnect with the truth of who you are: a capable, powerful, and intuitive woman.

3. Reach Out

You don't have to figure it all out alone. Support matters. Whether it's a trusted friend, a mentor, or a professional guide, having someone who sees your strength and can help you navigate through fear is invaluable.

Break the Cycle of Your Past

Fed up with self-sabotaging and want to live confidently, safely and securely in your own body and mind. You can do it.

You Are Ready—Even If You Don't Feel It

Remember your strength. Reclaim your power. Rise.
